No other
environment approaches the abundance, diversity and vibrance of a pristine
coral reef. You can see more different species in ten minutes there than
in ten hours in the most unspoiled wildernesses above water. But with
time, you'll discover that even unlikely places that seem empty and sterile
to the inexperienced eye like a lake or flooded quarry teem with intriguing
organisms reminding us that nature's imagination exceeds ours.

What
is Diving all about?
Scuba Diving is an incomparable activity one must
experience first hand to really enjoy and understand the sensations
it offers - the thrill of breathing underwater; the freedom of "weightlessness,"
and unique sights and sounds. To start this adventure you must become
S.C.U.B.A Certified through one of the many organizations.
What
is PADI and how does it relate to me?
Bubble Divers offers PADI certifications because
it's the world's largest diver training organization. What does this
mean for you? It means wherever your dive travels take you, you can
be confident that the local dive community will recognize your diver
credentials - even if "PADI" is the only word you can speak
in the local language. For more information on PADI visit their site
www.padi.com. For
more information on what PADI certifications you can get through Bubble
Divers click here.
How to get started?
Becoming
a certified diver is easier then you think. It just takes a few easy
steps. These steps allow an easy progression into what will most definitely
become the greatest experience of your life. Contact
Walt (owner/divemaster) for more information on how to sign up for
lessons and costs.
Step
One
Classroom
activities:
Dont
let the words classroom scare you. Classroom activities can easily be
completed in a day or two. In the class room you will develop the knowledge
needed to understand the concept, Regulations and safety aspects of
scuba diving. The classroom is also your first step in the familiarity
and hands on training with scuba equipment. By the end of your classroom
work, the excitement of finally getting in the water, leads you to your
next phase.
Step
Two
Pool activities:
In
simple words, this part of your training is awesome. In the pool phase,
(which can also be completed in one or two days), you and your instructor
will practice and develop the water skills needed to comfortably and
safely enjoy scuba diving for years to come. You will be amazed at how
easy and safe scuba diving actually is. Now! As if that's not exciting
enough, just wait.
Step
Three
Open
water diving:
This
is where you see and do things youve only dreamed of. This is
probably the greatest sensation you can legally share with others, You
and your instructor go over the skills you developed in the pool phase
during open water dives. This phase is generally completed in just two
days. After the successful completion of the last open water dive, you
will be awarded your certification card good for a lifetime of fun and
enjoyment. This card will be recognized all over the world as a certification
that you are a safe and properly trained scuba diver.
What equipment will you need?
Walt
can provide you with mask, snorkel, and fins for the pool if do not
have them, but you will need to purchase your own mask, snorkel, fins,
and boots for the Open Water dive and any subsequent dives you choose
to take in the future. For more information on equipment click
here.
Why Bubble Divers?
Learning
to scuba dive should be a relaxing and exciting experience. Choosing
the correct dive shop is very important because they initially introduce
you to the sport. If your learning style differs from their teaching
style then you could be turned off for life.
Most
dive shops have predetermined times and dates that force you to adjust
your schedule. Usually these schedules are tight and don't allow additional
time for you to spend on an activity you might not be comfortable with.
Bubble
Divers is a small shop, which allows us to accommodate towards your
individual needs. Everyone has a different learning style. Some people
learn fast and don't require extra attention and others prefer to take
their time and want more personalized instruction. Walt Salazar (owner/dive
master) prides himself in getting to know you on a personal level and
offers the type of instruction you need. He strives to provide a flexible
environment that teaches students how to have fun while being safe.
This
includes:
- Setting
up a schedule that fits your lifestyle.
Busy
during the week and need to fit everything into a couple of weekends,
no problem. Work during the day and need to complete the steps in
the evening, no problem.
- Working
at a pace you're comfortable with.
If
you feel you need more pool time before going on your open water dive
just let Walt know and he'll set it up.
